The underground petroleum pipeline from Motihari of India to Amlekhgunj of Nepal has completed its test operation.

The test has been carried out after the completion of pipe laying works.

Most probably, the petroleum pipeline would come into the full fledged operation from mid-July.

With the successful test operation, the technicians involved in the project have expressed their hope to bring pipeline to operation within next one month.

A joint team of technicians of Nepal and India had carried out the test by sending water through the pipeline from Motihari.

“As the test was successful, we will soon bring the 70.2 km pipeline into operation for cross-country petroleum supply,” said the Petroleum Pipeline Project Office in Simara.
