Thailand and Nepal are not immediate neighbours. But ties are not limited to that between government officials.
Hundreds of Nepali students go to Thailand every year, and Thai Buddhists come to Nepal in large numbers to pay homage to Buddha. Nepal also attracts Thai photographers who come to the country to admire its landscape and its people.

Six Thai photographers, including Punnawit Suwattananun (a prominent figure in photography who has worked on projects in the Annapurna, Everest Region and Kathmandu Valley heritage sites) are on display in Kathmandu’s Tourism Board. The photos offer a unique perspective on Nepal and its people from different walks of life.
It seems that the Thai photographers are keen on capturing the emotions of Nepalis as they go about with their day-to-day activities. In this photo from the Kathmandu Durbar square, an elderly woman who sells grain to the visitors to feed the birds smiles as the pigeons fly away.
This photo of an elderly man captures the ancient tradition that is part of the Nepali culture. It also shows how Thai people revere wisdom and patience.
Nepal, for outsiders, is a country of mountains and the way people interact with the mountains is different from anywhere else on this planet. This photo seems to have captured the extraordinary beauty of the Himalayas, and at the same time, the ordinary lives of the people who live in the mountains.
This photo seems to be indicative of the youthful energy that Nepal has. It talks about the innocence of childhood.
This photo seems to show how hospitable and welcoming the Nepali are.
