Chitwan, March 9
A pedestrian died after being hit by a truck in Narayangadh of Chitwan district on Sunday night.
The victim has been identified as Thakur Paudel, approximately 50, a permanent resident of Kawasoti municipality-17 of Nawalpur district. He was hit by the minitruck (Ba 1 Kha 1859) at local Pulchok Bajaar in Narayanghat last night.
Seriously injured in the accident, Paudel was rushed to a nearby hospital, but died in the course of treatment, according to the District Police Office. The police have arrested the truck driver and confiscated the vehicle.
Meanwhile, 11 persons sustained injuries when a passenger bus hit a stationary truck at Simaltal, Bharatpur-29 of the district, along the Narayangadh-Muglin road on Monday morning. The injured are undergoing treatment at different health facilities of the district.
