PADT’s Member-secretary Thapa granted bail at Rs 300,000 in jalhari corruption case

The Special court has granted bail to Milan Kumar Thapa, the suspended Member-Secretary of Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT), on a bond of Rs 300,000.

Thapa is facing allegations of corruption related to the installation of jalhari in the Shiva Linga of the Pashupatinath Temple and the misappropriation of 1.5 kilograms of gold, valued at Rs 11.7 million in the market.

A case was filed in the Special court against Thapa, along with then Member-Secretary of PADT Pradip Dhakal and storekeeper Arun Shrestha, accusing them of corruption.

The joint bench of Special court members, Khushi Prasad Tharu and Ram Bahadur Thapa has directed Milan Kumar Thapa to pay a bail amount of Rs 300,000.
