CIAA moves Special Court against 9 individuals including former deputy mayor

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has moved the Special Court against nine individuals including the then deputy mayor and the chief administrative officer of the Ramdhuni Municipality in Sunsari district.

They are accused of financial irregularities related to the payment for a road construction project. The charges involve the municipality’s former deputy mayor, Sani Kumari Chaudhary, chief administrative officer Omkar Prasad Neupane, account officer Dwarika Prasad Dahal, engineer Devendra Narayan Chaudhary, and sub-engineer Harshalal Chaudhary, said CIAA spokesperson Bhola Dahal.

The CIAA has sought imprisonment and fines against them in accordance with Clause 19 (2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act 2002.

Similarly, in the same case, charges have been filed against Raj Kumar Chaudhary, the chair of Ward 3 in Ramdhuni Municipality, along with ward member Tikalaxmi Shrestha, Planning Section employee Sunil Kumar Chaudhary, and Nanu Kumari Niraula, the proprietor of Jalpa Sidhha Construction Service in Pakali.
