Oppo Pad Air coming to Nepal: Here are some interesting features

Oppo Pad Air

Oppo Pad Air is a recent release from Oppo. This is also the economic version of Oppo Pad released earlier this year by the company.

With the tablet market seeing a rise in popularity during and after the Covid pandemic, smartphone brands like Samsung, Xiaomi and Realme have launched their tablets as well. Xiaomi Pad 5 received a good response from the Nepali market recently and was one of the best tablets released last year.

With an aim to penetrate the tablet market, Oppo now has launched a tablet of its own. The display on Oppo Pad Air supports the higher resolution. Despite having poor cameras, it also has a good battery backup and supports fast charging. The new Oppo tablet also runs on the latest Android and has a power-efficient 6nm chipset.

Let’s find out more about Oppo Pad Air.

Design and display

Oppo Pad Air features a simple and elegant design. With a glass front, plastic back and plastic frame build, the tablet flaunt what Oppo calls a sunset dune tide design. It is pleasing to the eyes and more importantly, the fingerprint does not stick on the back panel. The camera panel as well as the Oppo branding is done neatly on the back. There is no fingerprint sensor or a 3D facial recognition system on the tablet. The tablet also has stylus support that allows easing the use of the tablet.

Oppo Pad Air weighs around 440 grams and is thinner than most of the smartphones available on the market with only 6.9 mm thickness. The tablet is available in fog grey and star silver colours.

On the front is a 10.36-inch IPS LCD display that has a resolution of 1,200*2,000 pixels with 225 PPI density. The display also supports a 60Hz refresh rate and has a typical brightness of 360 nits. The 2K HD eye protection display helps in clearer picture quality and more delicate colours allowing the users for a better entertainment audio-visual experience.

Cameras

Cameras are not the strongest component of Oppo Pad Air. The tablet only has a single camera sensor on either side. On the front, it has a 5MP, f/2.2 sensor for selfies or for any online visual engagements. On the back is an 8MP camera sensor.

The camera feature on the tablet includes video, photo, portrait, panorama and time-lapse photography. The tablet is able to capture up to 1080p resolution videos at 30fps from both front and back camera sensors.

Performance and storage

Oppo Pad Air runs on ColorOS 12 based on Android 12. Furthermore, it is powered by a 6nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 4G chipset and the graphics are handled by Adreno 610.  This should give the users a good performance for their regular use while heavy-duty works and high graphics gaming may not be smooth.

For the storage, Oppo Pad Air comes with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM with 64GB and 128GB of internal storage. The user can easily expand the storage with a microSD card.

Battery life, connectivity and others

Oppo Pad Air has a 7100 mAh non-removable li-po battery. This should provide adequate power for the users and should last for days under normal use. The battery can be charged with an 18W fast charger.

Unfortunately, the tablet does not support any cellular connectivity. However, the tablet supports dual-band Wifi and has Bluetooth 5.1 for wireless connection or sharing files with other devices. The tablet uses a USB Type-C 2.0 cable for charging and wired connectivity. Oppo Pad Air does not have a 3.5mm headphone jack but features four stereo speakers for better audio.

As of now, Oppo Pad Air has only been launched in China with starting price of CNY 1,299 for the base 4GB RAM and 64GB variant. If and when the tablet is launched in Nepal, one can expect a price range between Rs 25,000 to Rs 30,000 for the base variant.
