Oli leaving for Azerbaijan to attend Non-Aligned Movement Summit

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is leaving for Baku of Azerbaijan on Thursday to attend the 18th Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the Non-Aligned Movement.

The summit will be held in the Azerbaijani capital on Friday and Saturday.

Oli will board a Qatar Airways flight from the Tribhuvan International Airport at 11 am today, according to his press coordinator Chetan Adhikari. Oli’s spouse Radhika Shakya, his chief political advisor Bishnu Rimal, foreign affairs advisor Rajan Bhattarai and Foreign Secretary Shanker Das Bairagi will accompany him. Foreign Affairs Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali is already in Baku as he had to take part in various meetings ahead of the summit.

The prime minister will address the summit of the countries embracing the non-aligned foreign policy. He is also likely to hold meetings with leaders of various countries on the sidelines.

Oli will return home on Sunday.
