The Department of Transport Management says it will soon remove the ceiling currently being imposed on the number of online applications it receives for driving licence tests.

As per the current provision, only 4,000 to 5,000 applicants had been able to submit their applications per day. Owing to the restriction, a lot of people were try submitting their applications early morning, resulting in several problems in the system.

“The ceiling has apparently increased the movement of middlemen in the process,” the department’s chief Gogan Bahadur Hamal says, “After realising the difficulties faced by the service recipients, we have decided to collect all the applications and inform the applicants of their test dates through the system.”

As the applications have reopened just recently after a gap of nine months due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of people waiting to submit their applications has skyrocketed of late.
