Kathmandu, March 26

Nonresident Nepalis have expressed a commitment that they will invest Rs 10 billion in various infrastructure development projects of Nepal this year.

The Nonresident Nepalis Association (NRNA) will formalise this commitment during the Nepal Investment Summit that the government is hosting this weekend.

The government and the Association will sign an agreement about establishing the NRNA Infrastructure Investment Fund during the event, according to NRNA Vice President Kumar Pant, who also chairs the NRNA Investment and Commerce Promotion Task Force.

He informs that the Fund will be established as the scattered investment of nonresident Nepalis could not yield visible results so far, adding the Fund will integrate the investment.

The agreement draft has already been finalised, according to him.

The draft mentions that Nepal Rastra Bank, the Company Registrar Office and the Securities Board of Nepal will make necessary arrangements to ensure the investment.
