NOC moves to merge LPG industries, asks operators to prepare action plans

Kathmandu, November 2

Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has said it has initiated the process of merging liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) industries operating in Nepal.

The corporation said it would continue its policy of merging LPG industries operating under different names and brands, in line with Point 32 of its approved policy and programme for the current fiscal year 2083/84. Currently, 58 LPG industries are operating under different brands in the country.

In this regard, the corporation sent letters to all LPG industries on October 29, urging them to encourage mergers, prepare action plans accordingly and move forward with the process.

The NOC expects the move to help make the distribution and sales system of LPG more organised, convenient and consumer-friendly.
