Niraula appointed Chief Registrar of Supreme Court

Kathmandu, January 23

Nrip Dhwaj Niraula has been appointed the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court. A meeting of the Judicial Service Commission, chaired by Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana, on Wednesday promoted Niraula, who was serving as Secretary at the Judicial Council.

The post of Chief Registrar was vacant after Dr Rajan Bhattrai was promoted to the post of High Court Judge.

Niraula is best known for his role in the dismissal of controversial Chief Justice Gopal Parajuli. Niraula during his time as JC Secretary wrote an official letter to Parajuli to relieve him from his post following his birthdate controversy.
