Biratnagar, February 27
A newborn is found dead in a toilet of the Koshi Hospital in Biratnagar of Morang in eastern Nepal on Sunday morning.
It has been suspected that a new mother ditched the baby in an act of infanticide as it could have been an unwanted pregnancy case.
The hospital employees say the baby was found on the pan inside the toilet of the emergency ward. As the staff saw the body, they had informed the police.
The Morang District Police Office says it has launched an effort to identify the mother.
Further investigation is underway.
