New Kathmandu mayor vows to do 101 works in first 100 days

Newly elected Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Bidya Sundar Shakya, waves to the public, at a function in Kathmandu, on Tuesday, May 30, 2017.

Kathmandu, May 30

The newly elected Mayor of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Bidya Sundar Shakya, says he will do as many as 101 works in the first 100 days of his office.

Speaking at a function organised on Tuesday by his CPN-UML party to celebrate his victory, Shakya said he would prove his efficiency with performance, not speeches.

“Immediately after the oath,” Shakya said in presence of his party’s top leaders, “I will begin implementing my promises that I had made before the elections.”

The oath has been scheduled for Wednesday.
