Nepal’s second coronavirus case detected

Shukraraaj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital in Teku of Kathmandu

Kathmandu, January 27

Health officials say they have detected one more coronavirus infection case in Nepal.

Earlier last week, the first coronavirus case of the country was detected in a youth who had recently returned from China, the first country where the infection spread from.

A source at Shukraraaj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital in Kathmandu confirms that the virus was found in one between two persons who were admitted to the hospital on Sunday with suspicious symptoms.

The hospital had sent the patients’ blood samples to Hong Kong for a test, which found that the 28-year-old man was coronavirus positive whereas the 48-year-old woman was not.

Whereas the woman had recently returned from China after attending an event, the man had travelled via the country in transit.
