Nuwakot, December 1

National Reconstruction Authority’s Chief Executive Officer Yubaraj Bhusal says the post-earthquake reconstruction body will mobilise one engineer in each ward of local units affected by the 2015 earthquake.

Speaking at a function organised in Kispang of Nuwakot district today, Bhusal said total 1,196 engineers would be mobilised from next week.

An engineer would be assigned to provide support to reconstruction of houses of around 500 families, Bhusal shared the plan, “Affected population complained that they felt the need of technicians to make the houses 100 per cent earthquake-resistant. Therefore, we will send one engineer to every ward of 131 local units in 14 worst-hit districts from next week.”

The official also shared that the Authority was launching a training programme to produce skilled human resources for the construction. The free training would make around 50,000 people skilled, according to him.
