Nepal U-19 cricketers register a consolation six-wicket win over their Bangladeshi counterparts thanks to a splendid batting performance by the opening batsmen.
Bangladesh put on 225 runs on the board after winning the toss. Nepal chased down the target in 46.3 overs.
Nepal’s opening stand was worth 139 runs as Ashif Seikh scored 90 runs and Jitendra Singh 45. Seikh hit nine fours and three sixes. Captain Dipendra Singh Airee and Bhim Karki saw the side through.
The main anchor of the Bangladeshi innings was Aminul Islam, who made 80 runs. Nepal’s Sahab Alam claimed three wickets.
Nepal had lost the first two matches of the tour with a wide margin. In the first match, Nepal had lost the game by three wickets and the second match by 123 runs.
The Nepali side is preparing for the ACC U-19 Asia Cup tournament which is to be played in Malaysia from November 10. Nepal is pitted alongside Bangladesh, India and Malaysia in the tournament.
