Nepal’s President Bidya Devi Bhandari has stressed the need of bilateral and multilateral connectivity for Nepal in her address to the Belt and Road Initiative Forum for International Cooperation, currently underway in Beijing.

President Bhandari, the leader of Nepali delegation, delivered her eight-minute address in Nepali language in the Chinese capital on Friday.

In her address, the President said connectivity would be the most important factor for a landlocked country like Nepal for its social and economic development.

A hopeful leader said connectivity would open the doors to bilateral and multilateral trade, investment, tourism and public relations.

“The development of Nepal-China cross border railway and a multidimensional connectivity network would promote not only the connectivity between two countries, but also between Nepal and other countries of this region,” she said.

Bhandari was appreciative of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s vision for creating a common future for the humanity through cooperation.
