Nepal Covid-19 tally: 27 new cases, 220 recoveries, 0 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 1,118,129 as of Thursday afternoon.

The ministry said 27 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 1,654 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 22 returned positive. Likewise, 3,093 underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional five tested positive.

Of total tests, 1.33 per cent of the PCR and 0.16 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 0.56 per cent.

As of today, there are 4,376 active cases across the country.

In the past 24 hours, 220 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there were zero deaths today.

Of the total cases so far, 961,781 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,950 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 98.3 per cent and the death rate is 1.2 per cent.

Meanwhile, 145,984 people were vaccinated today.
