Nepal Covid-19 tally: 73 new cases, 192 recoveries, 0 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 1,117,814 as of Saturday afternoon.

The ministry said 73 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 2,238 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 30 returned positive. Likewise, 2,824 underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 43 tested positive.

Of total tests, 1.34 per cent of the PCR and 1.52 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 1.44 per cent.

As of today, there are 5,050 active cases across the country. Of them, 101 are hospitalised, 40 in intensive care units and six on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 192 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there was zero deaths today.

Of the total cases so far, 960,878 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,950 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 98.3 per cent and the death rate is 1.2 per cent.

Meanwhile, 101,304 people were vaccinated today.
