Nepal Covid-19 tally: 91 new cases, 362 recoveries, 0 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 1,116,978 as of Saturday afternoon.

The ministry said 91 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 2,662 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 67 returned positive. Likewise, 3,558 underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 24 tested positive.

Of total tests, 2.51 per cent of the PCR and 0.67 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 1.46 per cent.

As of today, there are 6,947 active cases across the country. Of them, 131 are hospitalised, 53 in intensive care units and 11 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 362 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there were zero deaths today.

Of the total cases so far, 958,555 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,945 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 98.1 per cent and the death rate is 1.2 per cent.

Meanwhile, 200,861 people were vaccinated today.
