Nepal Covid-19 tally: 44 new cases, 481 recoveries, 1 death in 24 hours

Kathmandu, March 22

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 1,118,323 as of Tuesday afternoon.

The ministry said 44 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 4,495 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 35 returned positive. Likewise, 2,099 underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional nine tested positive.

Of total tests, 0.77 per cent of the PCR and 0.42 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 0.67 per cent.

As of today, there are 2,688 active cases across the country.

In the past 24 hours, 481 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there was one death recorded today.

Of the total cases so far, 963,592 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,951 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 98.5 per cent and the death rate is 1.2 per cent.

Meanwhile, 73,642 people were vaccinated today.
