Nepal Covid-19 tally hits 18,483; 109 new cases in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 18,483 as of Saturday afternoon.

In his daily press briefing in Kathmandu, the ministry’s spokesperson Jageshwor Gautam said 109 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours. In total, 4,075 swab samples were tested at 28 labs across the country in this period. So far, over 339,157 people have undergone PCR tests.

Of the total cases so far, 13,053 people have achieved recovery whereas 45 died, according to him. In the past 24 hours, 207 people have been discharged whereas one died.

The other 5,385 cases are active currently. Nepal’s current recovery rate is 70.6 per cent.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Rautahat, Kailali, and Bajura have more than 500 active cases each. Panchthar, Bhojpur, Sankhuwasabha, Rasuwa, Mustang, and Manang do not have any active case.

Over 20,842 people are quarantined across the country, waiting to be tested.
