Nepal Covid-19 tally: 88 new cases, 376 recoveries, 1 death in 24 hours

Kathmandu, March 7

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 1,117,134 as of Monday afternoon.

The ministry said 88 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 6,145 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 66 returned positive. Likewise, 2,493 underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 22 tested positive.

Of total tests, 1.07 per cent of the PCR and 0.88 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 1.01 per cent.

As of today, there are 6,105 active cases across the country. Of them, 120 are hospitalised, 44 in intensive care units and 7 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 376 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there was one death today.

Of the total cases so far, 959,469 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,948 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 98.1 per cent and the death rate is 1.2 per cent.

Meanwhile, 233,851 people were vaccinated today.
