Nepal Covid-19 tally: 792 new cases, 910 recoveries, 14 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 896,769 as of Tuesday afternoon.

The ministry said 792 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 7,060 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 691 returned positive. Likewise, 2,559 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 101 tested positive.

As of today, there are 14,554 active cases across the country. Of them, 1,095 are hospitalised, 306 in intensive care units and 102 on ventilators.

Of total tests, 9.78 per cent of the PCR and 3.94 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 8.23 per cent.

In the past 24 hours, 910 people have achieved recovery whereas 14 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 777741 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,257 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 96.8 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 69,824 people were vaccinated today.
