Nepal Covid-19 tally: 77 new cases, 189 recoveries, 1 death in 24 hours

Kathmandu, March 11

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 1,117,741 as of Friday afternoon.

The ministry said 77 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 5,607 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 62 returned positive. Likewise, 2,374 underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 15 tested positive.

Of total tests, 1.10 per cent of the PCR and 0.63 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 0.96 per cent.

As of today, there are 5,212 active cases across the country. Of them, 104 are hospitalised, 32 in intensive care units and 5 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 189 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there was one death today.

Of the total cases so far, 960,686 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,950 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 98.2 per cent and the death rate is 1.2 per cent.
