Nepal Covid-19 tally: 680 new cases, 1,835 recoveries, 2 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, February 15

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 1,111,898 as of Tuesday afternoon.

The ministry said 680 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 4,256 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 498 returned positive. Likewise, 2,839 underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 182 tested positive.

Of total tests, 11.70 per cent of the PCR and 6.41 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 9.58 per cent.

As of today, there are 19,400 active cases across the country. Of them, 757 are hospitalised, 174 in intensive care units and 33 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 1,835 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there were 2 deaths today.

Of the total cases so far, 942,737 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,902 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 96.8 per cent and the death rate is 1.3 per cent.

Meanwhile, 43,881 people were vaccinated today.
