Nepal Covid-19 tally: 58 new cases, 148 recoveries, 0 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 1,117,937 as of Monday afternoon.

The ministry said 58 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 3,539 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 50 returned positive. Likewise, 1,879 underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 8 tested positive.

Of total tests, 1.41 per cent of the PCR and 0.42 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 1.07 per cent.

As of today, there are 4,819 active cases across the country. Of them, 68 are hospitalised, 30 in intensive care units and six on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 148 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there were zero deaths today.

Of the total cases so far, 961,218 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,950 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 98.3 per cent and the death rate is 1.2 per cent.

Meanwhile, 92,048 people were vaccinated today.
