Nepal Covid-19 tally: 521 new cases, 3,935 recoveries, 10 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, February 13

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 1,110,471 as of Sunday afternoon.

The ministry said 521 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 6,037 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 427 returned positive. Likewise, 4,078 underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 94 tested positive.

Of total tests, 7.07 per cent of the PCR and 2.30 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 5.15 per cent.

As of today, there are 22,584 active cases across the country. Of them, 892 are hospitalised, 181 in intensive care units and 33 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 3,935 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there were 10 deaths today.

Of the total cases so far, 938,583 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,892 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 96.5 per cent and the death rate is 1.3 per cent.

Meanwhile, 56,012 people were vaccinated today.
