Nepal Covid-19 tally: 747 new cases, 2,319 recoveries, 8 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, February 14

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 1,111,218 as of Monday afternoon.

The ministry said 747 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 6,279 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 482 returned positive. Likewise, 2,417 underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 265 tested positive.

Of total tests, 7.67 per cent of the PCR and 10.96 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 8.59 per cent.

As of today, there are 20,739 active cases across the country. Of them, 809 are hospitalised, 178 in intensive care units and 34 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 2,319 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there were 8 deaths today.

Of the total cases so far, 940,902 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,900 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 96.6 per cent and the death rate is 1.3 per cent.

Meanwhile, 216,118 people were vaccinated today.
