Nepal Covid-19 tally: 484 new cases, 60 recoveries, eight deaths in past 24 hours

Kathmandu, August 12

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 24,432 as of Wednesday afternoon.

In his daily press briefing in Kathmandu, the ministry’s spokesperson Jageshwor Gautam said 484 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours. Of them, 139 are in the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 10,481 swab samples were tested. So far, 473,189 people have been tested in the country.

Of the total cases so far, 16,728 people have achieved recovery whereas 91 died, according to him. In the past 24 hours, 64 people have been discharged whereas eight deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 68.4 per cent.

The other 7,613 cases are active currently.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Parsa, Rautahat, Mahottari, and Kathmandu have more than 500 active cases each. Solukhumbu, Sankhuwasabha, Manang, Mustang, Dolpa, and Humla do not have any active cases.

Over 14,800 people are quarantined across the country, waiting to be tested.
