Nepal Covid-19 tally: 476 new cases, 831 recoveries, 3 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, February 22

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 1,115,020 as of Tuesday afternoon.

The ministry said 476 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 6,604 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 299 returned positive. Likewise, 2,820 underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 177 tested positive.

Of total tests, 4.52 per cent of the PCR and 6.27 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 5.05 per cent.

As of today, there are 10,747 active cases across the country. Of them, 380 are hospitalised, 115 in intensive care units and 19 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 831 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there were three deaths today.

Of the total cases so far, 953,340 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,928 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 97.7 per cent and the death rate is 1.2 per cent.

Meanwhile, 107,018 people were vaccinated today.
