Nepal Covid-19 tally: 469 new cases, 555 recoveries, 11 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 908,107 as of Tuesday afternoon.

The ministry said 469 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 7,115 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 422 returned positive. Likewise, 3,172 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 47 tested positive.

Of total tests, 5.93 per cent of the PCR and 1.48 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 4.55 per cent.

As of today, there are 9,174 active cases across the country. Of them, 706 are hospitalised, 241 in intensive care units and 74 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 555 people have achieved recovery whereas 11 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 792,832 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,427 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 97.4 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 80,818 people were vaccinated today.
