Nepal Covid-19 tally: 464 new cases, 425 recoveries, five deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 22,214 as of Friday afternoon.

In his daily press briefing in Kathmandu, the ministry’s spokesperson Jageshwor Gautam said 464 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours. Of them, 106 are from the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 7,926 swab samples were tested. So far, 427,501 people have been tested in the country.

Of the total cases so far, 15,814 people have achieved recovery whereas 70 died, according to him. In the past 24 hours, 425 people have been discharged whereas five deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 70 per cent.

The other 6,330 cases are active currently.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Parsa, Rautahat, Mahottari, and Kathmandu have more than 500 active cases each. Khotang, Dhankuta, Sankhuwasabha, Manang, Mustang, and Rukum West do not have any active cases.

Over 10,200 people are quarantined across the country, waiting to be tested.
