Nepal Covid-19 tally: 4,499 new cases, 2,668 recoveries, 17 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, October 23

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 153,008 as of Friday afternoon.

The ministry says 4,499 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

Of the new cases, 2,720 are from the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 16,863 swab samples were tested. So far, 1 million and 367,016 people have been tested in the country.

As of today, 46,691 cases are active currently. Among them, 31,727 are in home isolation. Likewise, 290 are in intensive care units and 69 on ventilators.

Of the total cases so far, 105,488 people have achieved recovery whereas 829 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 2,668 people have been discharged whereas 17 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 68.9 per cent.

Over 3,500 people are quarantined across the country.
