Nepal Covid-19 tally: 437 new cases, 2,454 recoveries, 2 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, February 18

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 1,113,544 as of Friday afternoon.

The ministry said 437 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 5,133 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 275 returned positive. Likewise, 3,958 underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 162 tested positive.

Of total tests, 5.35 per cent of the PCR and 4.09 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 4.80 per cent.

As of today, there are 14,435 active cases across the country. Of them, 607 are hospitalised, 144 in intensive care units and 23 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 2,454 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there were two deaths today.

Of the total cases so far, 948,784 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,913 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 97.3 per cent and the death rate is 1.3 per cent.

Meanwhile, 124,867people were vaccinated today.
