Nepal Covid-19 tally: 435 new cases, 239 recoveries, 0 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 926,385 as of Wednesday afternoon.

The ministry said 435 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 6,715 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 370 returned positive. Likewise, 3,552 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 65 tested positive.

Of total tests, 5.51 per cent of the PCR and 1.82 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 4.23 per cent.

As of today, there are 5,225 active cases across the country. Of them, 376 are hospitalised, 84in intensive care units and 14 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 239 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there were zero deaths today.

Of the total cases so far, 813,176 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,601 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 98 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 246,385 people were vaccinated today.
