Nepal Covid-19 tally: 42 new cases, 86 recoveries, 0 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 1,118,508 as of Tuesday afternoon.

The ministry said 42 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 4,322 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 30 returned positive. Likewise, 1,149 underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 12 tested positive.

Of total tests, 0.69 per cent of the PCR and 1.04 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 0.76 per cent.

As of today, there are 1,198 active cases across the country.

In the past 24 hours, 86 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there were zero deaths recorded today.

Of the total cases so far, 965,228 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,951 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 98.7 per cent and the death rate is 1.2 per cent.

Meanwhile, 50,151 people were vaccinated today.
