Nepal Covid-19 tally: 3,915 new cases, 2,118 recoveries, 27 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 802,566 as of Friday afternoon.

The ministry said 3,915 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 11,708 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which 2,763 returned positive. Likewise, 6,874 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 1,152 tested positive.

Of total tests, 23.59 per cent of the PCR and 16.75 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 21.06 per cent.

As of today, there are 38,798 active cases across the country. Of them, 3,280 are hospitalised, 736 in intensive care units and 186 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 2,118 people have achieved recovery whereas 27 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 679,495 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 10,239 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 93.3 per cent and the death rate 1.5 per cent.

Likewise, 3,223,693 people have received their full dose of the Covid-19 vaccine while 4,659,414 have received their first dose. Today, 367,341 people were vaccinated throughout the country.
