Nepal Covid-19 tally: 390 new cases, 425 recoveries, 5 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 909,800 as of Monday afternoon.

The ministry said 390 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 2,606 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 371 returned positive. Likewise, 2,420 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 19 tested positive.

Of total tests, 14.23 per cent of the PCR and 0.78 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 7.75 per cent.

As of today, there are 7,654 active cases across the country. Of them, 560 are hospitalised, 187 in intensive care units and 43 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 425 people have achieved recovery whereas five deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 795,822 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,453 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 97.6 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 1,917 people were vaccinated today.
