Nepal Covid-19 tally: 378 new cases, 499 recoveries, three deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, August 8

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 22,592 as of Saturday afternoon.

In his daily press briefing in Kathmandu, the ministry’s spokesperson Jageshwor Gautam said 378 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours. Of them, 62 are from the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 7,788 swab samples were tested. So far, 435,289 people have been tested in the country.

Of the total cases so far, 16,313 people have achieved recovery whereas 73 died, according to him. In the past 24 hours, 499 people have been discharged whereas three deaths have been reported.

The other 6,206 cases are active currently.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Parsa, Rautahat, Mahottari, and Kathmandu have more than 500 active cases each. Khotang, Dhankuta, Sankhuwasabha, Manang, Mustang, Dolpa and Humla do not have any active cases.

Over 10,792 people are quarantined across the country, waiting to be tested.
