Nepal Covid-19 tally: 3,749 new cases, 3,564 recoveries, 19 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, October 15

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 121,745 as of Thursday afternoon.

The ministry says 3,749 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

Of the new cases, 1,935 are from the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 16,598 swab samples were tested. So far, 1 million and 237,636 people have been tested in the country.

As of today, 36,533 cases are active currently. Among them, 24,194 are in home isolation, and 12,339 are hospitalised.

Likewise, 314 are in intensive care units, and 68 on ventilators.

Of the total cases so far, 84,518 people have achieved recovery whereas 694 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 3,564 people have been discharged whereas 19 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 69.4 per cent.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Morang, Sunsari, Makawanpur, Lalitpur, Kathmandu, Chitwan, Bhaktapur, Rupandehi, Dang, Banke, and Surkhet have more than 500 active cases each.

Over 4,800 people are quarantined across the country.
