Nepal Covid-19 tally: 3,556 new cases, 2,129 from Kathmandu

Kathmandu, October 13

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 115,358 as of Tuesday afternoon.

The ministry says 3,556 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

Of the new cases, 2,129 are from the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 15,577 swab samples were tested. So far, 1 million and 207,091 people have been tested in the country.

As of today, 35,915 cases are active currently. Among them, 20,867 are in home isolation, and 15,048 are hospitalised.

Likewise, 307 are in intensive care units, and 66 on ventilators.

Of the total cases so far, 78,780 people have achieved recovery whereas 663 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 1,503 people have been discharged whereas 18 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 68.3 per cent.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Morang, Sunsari, Makawanpur, Lalitpur, Kathmandu, Chitwan, Bhaktapur, Rupandehi, Dang, Banke, and Surkhet have more than 500 active cases each. Manang does not have any active cases.

Over 4,700 people are quarantined across the country.
