Kathmandu, March 24
The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 1,118,396 as of Thursday afternoon.
The ministry said 35 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.
In this period, 3,881 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 32 returned positive. Likewise, 1,387 underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional three tested positive.
Of total tests, 0.82 per cent of the PCR and 0.21 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 0.66 per cent.
As of today, there are 2,219 active cases across the country.
In the past 24 hours, 266 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there were zero deaths recorded today.
Of the total cases so far, 9643,127 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,951 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 98.6 per cent and the death rate is 1.2 per cent.
Meanwhile, 83,253 people were vaccinated today.
