Nepal Covid-19 tally: 3,167 new cases, 1,800 recoveries, 12 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 129,304 as of Saturday afternoon.

The ministry says 3,167 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

Of the new cases, 1,746 are from the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 15,438 swab samples were tested. So far, 1 million and 269,605 people have been tested in the country.

As of today, 38,737 cases are active currently. Among them, 25,438 are in home isolation, and 13,299 are hospitalised.

Likewise, 290 are in intensive care units and 66 on ventilators.

Of the total cases so far, 89,840 people have achieved recovery whereas 727 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 1,800 people have been discharged whereas 12 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 69.4 per cent.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Morang, Sunsari, Makawanpur, Lalitpur, Kathmandu, Chitwan, Kaski, Bhaktapur, Rupandehi, Dang, Banke, and Surkhet have more than 500 active cases each. Mustang has zero cases.

Over 4,700 people are quarantined across the country.
