Nepal Covid-19 tally: 3,093 new cases, 2,108 recoveries, 8 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 139,129 as of Tuesday afternoon.

The ministry says 3,093 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

Of the new cases, 1,702 are from the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 13,861 swab samples were tested. So far, 1 million and 314,779 people have been tested in the country.

As of today, 41,775 cases are active currently. Among them, 28,196 are in home isolation, and 13,559 are hospitalised.

Likewise, 273 are in intensive care units and 78 on ventilators.

Of the total cases so far, 96,609 people have achieved recovery whereas 765 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 2,108 people have been discharged whereas eight deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 69.4 per cent.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Makawanpur, Kavre, Lalitpur, Kathmandu, Chitwan, Kaski, Bhaktapur, Rupandehi, Dang, Banke, Surkhet, and Kailali have more than 500 active cases each. Mustang has zero cases.

Over 4,200 people are quarantined across the country.
