Nepal Covid-19 tally: 308 new cases, 298 recoveries, 3 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 915,709 as of Thursday afternoon.

The ministry said 308 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 7,104 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 281 returned positive. Likewise, 1,805 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 27 tested positive.

Of total tests, 3.95 per cent of the PCR and 1.49 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 3.45 per cent.

As of today, there are 7,349 active cases across the country. Of them, 388 are hospitalised, 197 in intensive care units and 41 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 298 people have achieved recovery whereas three deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 801,420 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,516 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 97.7 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 177,884 people were vaccinated today.
