Kathmandu, November 18
The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 913,557 as of Thursday afternoon.
The ministry said 299 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.
In this period, 7,863 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 272 returned positive. Likewise, 3,288 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 27 tested positive.
Of total tests, 3.45 per cent of the PCR and 0.82 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 2.68 per cent.
As of today, there are 7,642 active cases across the country. Of them, 473 are hospitalised, 224 in intensive care units and 60 on ventilators.
In the past 24 hours, 260 people have achieved recovery whereas six deaths have been reported.
Of the total cases so far, 799,176 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,489 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 97.7 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.
Meanwhile, 71,892 people were vaccinated today.
