Nepal Covid-19 tally: 2,817 new cases, 2,812 recoveries, 21 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, November 8

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 194,453 as of Sunday afternoon.

The ministry says 2,817 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

Of the new cases, 1,533 are from the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 12,311 swab samples were tested. So far, 1 million and 540,077 people have been tested in the country.

As of today, 35,419 cases are active currently. Among them, 29,197 are in home isolation and 6,222 hospitalised.

Likewise, 398 are in intensive care units and 82 on ventilators.

Of the total cases so far, 157,926 people have achieved recovery whereas 1,108 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 2,812 people have been discharged whereas 21 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 81.1 per cent.

Of 77 districts of Nepal, Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Chitwan, Makawanpur, Kavre, Kaski, Nawalparasi, Dang, and Rupandehi have more than 500 active cases each. Manang does not have any active case.

Over 1,100 people are quarantined across the country.
