Nepal Covid-19 tally: 271 new cases, 225 recoveries, 1 death in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 923,673 as of Monday afternoon.

The ministry said 271 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 9,157 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 251 returned positive. Likewise, 1,729 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 20 tested positive.

Of total tests, 2.74 per cent of the PCR and 1.15 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 2.48 per cent.

As of today, there are 4,931 active cases across the country. Of them, 237 are hospitalised, 78 in intensive care units and 23 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 225 people have achieved recovery whereas one death was reported.

Of the total cases so far, 811,005 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,586 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 98 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 568,319 people were vaccinated today.
