Nepal Covid-19 tally: 26 new cases, 77 recoveries, 0 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, March 30

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 1,118,534 as of Wednesday afternoon.

The ministry said 26 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 3,940 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 25 returned positive. Likewise, 1,252 underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional one tested positive.

Of total tests, 0.63 per cent of the PCR and 0.1 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 0.50 per cent.

As of today, there are 1,146 active cases across the country.

In the past 24 hours, 77 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there were zero deaths recorded today.

Of the total cases so far, 965,305 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,951 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 98.7 per cent and the death rate is 1.2 per cent.

Meanwhile, 71,072 people were vaccinated today.
